Dr. Krishna S. Iyer is one of the most respected pediatric cardiac surgeons in India and a global authority in congenital heart disease. He serves as the Director of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi, and has played a pioneering role in establishing pediatric cardiac surgery as a specialty in the country.

After graduating in medicine, Dr. Iyer pursued M.S. in General Surgery and M.Ch in Cardiothoracic Surgery from AIIMS, New Delhi. With specialized training in pediatric cardiac surgery from Australia and other global centers, he has developed unmatched expertise in operating on complex congenital heart defects — even in newborns and small infants.

Dr. Iyer has performed thousands of successful pediatric heart surgeries, many of them in critically ill infants and high-risk cases. His legacy includes not only surgical excellence but also policy advocacy, international collaborations, and the mentoring of many cardiac surgeons across the country.
